Tuesday January 18th

Last night the mercury reached the Zero mark and it has been pretty cold all day although sunny, and no wind. It was too cold to husk corn so we didn't do any thing all day but chores I didn't go over to the d=farm till about three o'clock this afternoon. (I soent the fore noon there) and then just sat around and read the paper till chore time Dad. went d=own to Aunty's before dinner and this after noon he went over to see John Wess. To-night Marj. and I went. to a small party at Cousion Clare's where we ha d anic etime and came home fairly early. Aunty Alice, Zeitha, Winnie, Lila, Julie Smith, Jack McDomnald & Frank were the other guests. We came home across the pond and found the two bits of plank that had disappeared form the vicinity of the boat house on the far sid eof the pond being used for. aseat around the bonfire. The pond was deserted so we brought them home. Marj. hasn't felt very well to-day and spent most of he time. braiding rags to make a beautiful mat. She had Wuncle Ward & Will Wood to call on her this after noon.
