Friday Forward Fine sunny warm day exceedingly dry weather. N.S. up all day hoeing turnips I scuffled corn, and Willie chopped {pig?} cut sow thistle out of {grass/grain?} etc. PM Willie funished scuffling corn and hoed some. I hoed mangels second time PM. A {minister?} from Erin and another man in AM looking for a horse to buy. William Clark in for eggs today 40cts. {Jus?} Clark died to-day. {Scharis?} over in evening got 2 hens and 5 doz eggs {Illegible} We drove up in evening to see cattle, the water supply was dry. Several berry pickers from {Elora?} were in {Illegible} They had lost their way. We put {loader?} SD.R and {Illegible} {Illegible} in other {pen?}. We are still doctoring Mauds colt it cannot stand. July has been exceedingly dry {Illegible}.

Saturday

A slight shower of rain last night cloudy in morning turned out fine {sunny?} N.S. up all day finished hoeing turnips second time. we gave him $10.00 Two of which he has to work for next week. Willie and I and {Illegible} Allan up at {fifty?} getting the water to run A.M. PM we hoed mangels in NO. Uncle Will & cousin {Illegible} of Hamilton here in {Illegible} auto PM for a while. I Killed Mauds colt "Patsy" and buried it in N.O. I went down town at night Dan {Tindale?} said some of our cattle were out Willie and I drove up to see but they were all in.
