20th of April 1897 Fine very hard Frost Last night cutting Brush at North side of the Ditch Tapt some Trees sawing Stove Wood Letting the Water Run up on the Flat in the swamp The Chaffy came up to Lancaster her First Trip Freezing hard to night
21st Fine Tapt over 100 Trees Runs well cutting stove-wood cutting Brush and wood on the Hill in the swamp got some Pike set Fires at the shore Randolph crofsed some of the Potatoes Froze Last night in the Store-house
22nd Fine Ploughing for the First Drawing Stones at the appletree Boilig Sap Sissy and Ionia crofsed to Summerstown 1 of the Sheep 2 Lambs Thunder and Lightning to night Rained

24th Unfortunate Day Drewing and Taking up Stones Fine Rained some went up the Bay for a Load of Wood Put 2 Bushels of nuts up in the Storehouse
25th Fine St Marks Day West and East wind Blowing hard Raining J Hamilton and Gordon came had Leanders Gun the Zulu Low Sunday
26th Fine Ploughing Taking up a Big Stone took 1 {illegible} to the Stoor Step Randolph crofsed Chaffy at the Buoys the Tug Taking Down a Raft A Lamb snowed to night
