16th of Sept 1898 Fine W Wind Boarding the Roof Leander and Stanley to Lancaster for Shingles 2 1/2 at 1.80 thats 3.50 Stanley went to Haggartys for nails 5 lb 25 John Nicholson Esq Departed this Life this Day of our Lord put on Shingles

17th Fine Finished the Roofs shingling Fixing in the sleepers Stanley cutting cornstalks put corn in the Granary took over 8 Doz of Eggs bought Fly Paper close pins Tea cheeses

18th Fine Wind John H and D Spink Took a Big Sturgeon to Mrs Jack Storm in Montreal Gordon crofsed to go to Cattanacks

19th Taking the oats to the Granary From the Stable John Nicholson Buried to Day putting Boards on the Flooring

20th Fine putting the Wheat in the Granary in Barrells and the Big Box 27 Bushels in it

21st Last Day of Summer put the Seperator in the Grannery to Day and some Wheat {illegible} Put in the Pease Got {rest of page illegible}

22nd of Sept 1898 Autumn or Fall Begins to Day Fine W Wind Stanley and Livinia Went to Dundee Took a Tub of Butter 30 1/2 lb at 18 $5.55 Tea 3 lb 1 Dollar oil 5 Gallons50 3 Tubs 54 Soda Biscuit 25 Fine Salt 50 10 yds of Ticking 1.80 Towels 30 cents Wrote a Letter to Dan concerning the Island Wind Raised to Through the night

  • 23rd E Wind high night Blowing hard Shelling Corn Gathered some Butternuts Raining and Blowing hard to night Blew Down one of the Black Cherrie Trees in the Grove

24th Fine E Wind high Went to head of the Island Gathered nuts Leander and Stanley at the nuts Stanley Drew them home with the horse Leander crofsed to P.O Took the Letter I wrote to Dan it wont Go till Monday Fernandez came to night a Hen with 12 Fine chicks came out to Day Gordon came with Leander
