Hattie & Mrs Zimerman came over to tea but Hattie had to go home Miss Marshall came & stayed all night: she brought us 8 lb of lard @ 15 pr lb 1.20. I made two apple & elderberry pies, made a dozen tarts out of preserved pears & peaches mixed & white cookies. Marjorie made an apple sauce cake the first of the week. Marjorie swept & cleaned the floor. Paul blacked the stove when he got up. Marjorie the youngsters night gowns. Marguerite cleaned the lamps & washed the chairs.

Sun 14 Missionary meeting. Arthur took Miss Marshall home then drove to church. Olly & Lilly brought Fannie home came over to church. quite stormy snow almost like rain. The youngsters went over to the other house in the afternoon

Mon 15. Beautiful day sunshine all day but cold wind gets colder towards night: but thawing very cold in the morning northwest wind. Mrs. Riexinger brought 2 lb butter for her customer Arthur drawed 2 loads of rails with Jack & the black colt. in the afternoon Will went to McCredies to cut feed, & Arthur & Paul drawed manure from their barn. Mrs Zimerman went home Marjorie went to Drummondville had 2½ lbs butter ought to be 70 & she allowed 63 - 107 for eggs got brown sugar 25 black & white thread 10 bar soap 15 2 lb salts & corn starch 10. got 50 cts bran 60. paid $1.00 for native herbs of the egg money took two due bills one for 7 cts & one . 65. lb tea 30. & the rest on fish. Wells heifer had on a calf at night.

Teu 16 Dr Glasgows funeral. we had to get up early to get Paul off on the train to go to Welland the wind blew a gale & snowed. sometimes it came on fits & starts one time got so black you could not see. an awful big funeral Fannie went to Chippewa & Arthur & Hattie went by Fraser Hattie stayed all night & started for Buffalo next day. I cleaned the stable & beded them while Marjorie & Gordon watered the cows & horse.

wed 17. Doctor Burgar burried. colder than yesterday & wind from the west instead of south west as yesterday I got up twenty minutes to 7. & made the fire went back to bed untill 7. then the house was warm. I got breakfast & Marjorie went out & fed then we had breakfast & she & the children watered the things & Marjorie milked & I separated the milk & washed the dishes & separater the youngsters took their dinner. Paul got home he stayed in Welland all night at the Mansion House, cold night Wills cow that used to be long horn had a calf in the night.

Thur 18. I churned & worked the butter: Marjorie working at the fold on her skirt. Will went down to Chippewa after Hattie nice sunshine & cold wind. he took 1 doz eggs @ 20 cts for us & got 1 dozen of fish. Paul kept the smoke house going all day

Friday 19. dull, & stormy snowing & raining at times Marjorie baked a big baking. Kate Riexinger here all afternoon & Will came in befor her & Arthur came in. Paul making the door at the stable. cowstable in two parts.

Sat. 20 wind north, I was sick with a cold. Marjorie swept & cleaned the kitchen swept the front room & washed her underwear Marguerite washed her underwear Fannie went to Sharps Arthur took her to the Fraser. station cold wind but thawing some.

Sun 21 wind north-east. Hattie to dinner we had the salmon trout for dinner. Arthur took Hattie & Marguerite to the brick church cold but thawing. bright sunshine. Will went over to see Jerry Brown. Jerry had an absess opened. Marguerite went in from church & stayed all night. & to breakfast next morning.

Mon 22. beautiful sunshine but cold wind Hattie over in the evening with her Harp. Ben Saylor & Woodhead at Wills Hattie up to Ben Heximers in the afternoon. Yesterday they called on John Lundy. snowing but cold.

Teu 23. John Marshall at the school in the fornoon. I made ginger cookies & cleaned the lower part of the corner cupboard.
