Sat 3. Dull most of the day with the least little sunshine once. drizled rain. & snowed & melted as fast as it came Every where out of doors look filthy but not so cold Paul gone to Chippewa. Marjorie swept & cleaned the floor Marguerite ironing has a lot of her own to iron I made ginger cookies & 3 elderberry pies mixed with Plums Paul caught a small mess of fish yesterday we are going to have them for supper. At 3 Oclock cleared up & the sun struck out, after Paul came home he went over after part of the bran.

Sun 4 no meeting here Arthur went to Will Dells for dinner then to the brick church. Mr. Longmyer preached roads terrible Hattie came over in the afternoon & stayed for tea she was not very well sick the day befor.

Mon 5 Bee at the church they finished shingling 17 in the fornoon & about 30 in the afternoon nice warm day the warmest we have had this spring & the first time I heard the frogs. I started on my print skirt. Paul to the Bee. Will Dell to the other house for dinner Bella Wells came to the other house rode up with Jen Tuft.

Teu 6. drizling in the afternoon. Marjorie washed, most of woolens Arthur over in the evening. The youngsters gone to Montagues they were told to stay all night if it rained hard. Paul took the turkey to Harveys at night caught a mess of fish. rained some in the night.

Wed 7. Terrible high southwest wind something awful. a little rain in the morning The wind kept rising untill it was something dreadful the house shook like an old ship Wills barn roof nearly gone. I never felt the wind like it in my life time. I cleaned the stove pipe or I believe it would fall on fire most of the bee hives blew over at 8 it got a little lower then raised in the night about -12. I thought I would have to get up. The children never came home from Bella Montagues went last night

Thur 8 last day of school. wind changed cold north west now Marjorie fixing things to go away, with Marguerite ironing & washing.

Friday 9. Goodfriday. Hattie & Bella went to Mrs Dells Turned to a terrible day snowing & blowing something awful. I was going to Riexingers but it turned out so bad I was glad I was glad I did not go. I worked on my print skirt my head just ached something awful

Sat. 10 Mrs Catharine Dell burried Arthur & John Riexinger dug the grave. stormy part of the time then the sun would strike out then snow again & cold west wind Marjorie went to Chippewa in the Cart. roads just awful had three doz eggs @ 20 1½ butter @ 22. - 35 eggs 60. sugar 25 can Pumkin 10 ginger 10 soda 5 Herrings 20 coffee 15 I made 3 Plum & Elderberry pies batch ginger cookie cleaned the floor. Marjorie swept the front room yesterday Marjorie & Marguerite ironed up things they needed Paul went on the {Secttion?} to work

Sun. 11 Easter Sunday. no preaching here the minister has a cold. Marjorie Marguerite started down to Clifton then over the river. Hattie went up after dinner to see Clara & the baby.

Mon 12. I went down after I got the work done & swept & dusted the schoolhouse the mud was 2 inches thick on the boys side. Will sold his heiffers calf. There was a terrible stron{g} southwest wind blowing or else I dont know when the dust would have {sealed?} I told Gordon to go to the other house while I was down there. The fire went out so I blacked the stove. Arthur came home from Sharps.
