Mr James Cameron Island October 5th 1864

Charlie & I to Salmon River 1 1/2 of Wheat Last years Wehat & 1 Bushel of Corn 100 lb of Barley to P Buchanan to my account the Boys Horses & harnefs & Wagon seized yesterday heard Clarifsa Bone went on a Boat Paid Betsy 1 Dollar Bought of G Streeter 1 pair for Livinia 7/6 1 pair for Gordon 5/- 2 awls 5 cents Bought of Norman 3 1/2 yds of shirting at 30 cents 5/3 and 1 spool paid 2/3 for the cloth 7 yds 1/4 sent it Down with A Smallman & Dutcher to Hopkins Got a Treat From Mr Phillips near Laports Island A Treat From A Stickler took Dinner at Mrs Morris's Wild Geese came Rafts a Going Down took in Dozen Eggs Rainy weather

6th Doing not much cleaning my Gun Looking at the sand

7th a Fortunate Day Blowing hard West Wind Thrashing the Beans & Fanning them with the Wind took in 5 Bushels of Potatoes I have in 20 Bushels now whatever water very Low with West Wind the F Exhibition in Malone this time and very Bad time they have

8th East Wind & Rain Water High a Great many Boats a Going to Day Looking at my traps Fixing the Dutch Collar chopping Stove Wood Bad Weather for the Buckwheat

9th Sunday snow on the Mountains a Few Grains of Snow Falling

10th our Hugh Anns Birth Day at the Buckwheat commenced to Rain some hail Drawing Drags Maryann Henery {illegible} Married to Day Beech nuts Plenty Hicory nuts & oak nuts falling Black Birds Plenty Wood Ducks plenty Lightning to night

11th Drew up the Elm stick Mr Hill crofsed to Frasher's Drew ash Log for Rails Brok the Whippletrees & harnefs took up 5 Bushels of Potatoes thats 25 in the cellar now

Shot a Wood Duck senn a Great Many Wild Geese for the first I seen though they came some time ago took in three Loads of Buckwheat though it is Raining thrashed a Floor got it salted 2 2 Dozen of Eggs for a Begginning of this pail chopping Stove wood

13th Went to Renshaw Bought 1 Bottle oil 1/2 lb Tea 1/10 1/2 Brought a Bag of Seeds got another Bag in place of my own Lewis Blondea there

14th Came home heard John McGillis Blacksmith came home high Wind Gathering the Buckwheat in the upper Feild Raining

15 thrashing 2 Bushels of B Wheat Raining

Sunday 16th Donald McDonald and 1 of Kenneths boys here Raining

17th Thrashing some Tom Davis came Raining Set my Traps for the first setting set 9 of them in the Front Marsh

18th Took in 7 Bushels of Potatoes to Day got 1 Foot of a Rat

19th Mr Luke Bowen and Betsy here on Frashers Little Island all night with the Wind had his Jar and Made Tom Davis staving Luke gave the Gordon 3 cents had Lots of Provision Gave 7 Pumkins 1 Bunch of Matches some seed cucumbers a Dog Tom Gave some Butternuts Tom sleeping all Day Lent Luke my Long Gun took up 1 1/2 Bushel of Potatoes Fanning 1 and a peck of Buckwheat cleaned out the sheep place got a Rat for the First Left my Canoe at the head of the Island took home the pails From the sand on the North Side Took up 10 Bushels of sand before the Door 33 1/2 Bushels in the cellar now Thats 70 Bushels Before the Door of sand
