Fixing the canoes Drawing Wood some cold Ducks & wild Geese Plenty Hawks and owls Flying about

16th Went to to Renshaws with their Jar went to Mr Harpers Bought (Butter 2 prints 1/2 lb of saleratus and a Wick for Lamp paid all this 1/3) credit 1 Cap 10/- 19 lb Pork 11/10 1/2 Hogs Lard 8 lbs at 9D 6/- 50 lb Flour 7/6 1 lb Tea 3/9 Broom -/7 1/2 Treat -/7 1/2 Dan Summers on the Front a very fine Day came home

17th a Fine Day turned soft Drawing Drags Broke the chain ice Breaking up Before the Door Ducks up to the shore Wind Raising at night

18 Sunday 3 Men Passed up in a Boat Before the Door McNairn Hopkins

19th Thrashing the Big Pease Fanning 3 Bushels

20th Thrashing the small Pease Thrashed 3 Bushels cold Windy Time

21st this is about or tommorrow is the First Day of Winter and a stormy Day and night it is The Bull and the heifer a Wicked Fight My Canoe in a Bad Way Drew some Drags

22nd the ice taken

23rd Very Frosty & cold ice taken all over Went to the head of the Island

24th Went to Mr Harpers called at Hamiltons caught a Duck Left it at Hamiltons got Christmas a Hooker of Brandy John very Poorly but getting Better Bought of Mr Harper 8 yds of Cotton 10/- 2 yds Calico at /10 1/8 Wick -/3 & 3 1/2 pints of oil -/10 Quart of H Wines 1/6 1/2 lb Candles -/5 - 14/8) ( Bought & Paid for Treats & sweetys)

25th Christmas Day a Fine Day Jim Hopkins George Morris & Lukes Boy here came Down on the Ice

26th Fine I went to spear EEls got 44 turning soft

27th Working at the pine stick got it Raised

28th Raining cutting the ice around the other pine got it to stir some a New Moon Kind of Soft the ice getting Bad

Our Angus Birth Day Drawing Wood snowing ice all opened out Down the Channel

30th ice going Down and Jamming got the shortest of the Pine stick up on skids on the ice thrashed a Floor of Oats 1/2 Bushel

31st Last Day of the Year Butting the Logs back of the Barn Making a Rack for the sleigh ice all clear Feeding the Cattle all extra Freezing hard to night Health Peace and Plenty But no Whiskey Broke on the stack Back of the Barn callte all hearty
