13 Took in potatoes well saved. ground frozen about 3 feet this winter. Drew a load of slabs
for RW after supper W. fine showers last night fine today.
14 Drew home 5 loads of chips for us and 1 for my mother. Drew in 2 logs at SM and went to
Bss {Bss = blacksmith shop} after supper. W. Fine clear
Sunday 15 at home Br N's and Flavius & wife were here W. clear
16 Drew dung into garden & chored W. began to plow in Old Meadow. W. fine clear.
{17} Went to Markham for new cooking stove @$21 {cleaned} seed barley after we got home

{18} plowed. I plowed in sod AM behind barn PM Went to J. Clark's after supper W. warm
clear never saw ground in better order at this time of year roads like plank. it has been a very
dry winter.
19 Plowed Am Went fishing to Br. S's JWM. Isaac Br. S. Davis his man and W Clod. Caught
260 suckers PM PM, Water warm. Splendid sport. W. clear.
20 Plowed W very warm fine shower this evening
21 W finished plowing sod this morning then helped me finish behind barn except fall plowed

Sunday 22 Started to go to Br. S's not at home then went to Br N's W fine Clear Cooler
23 Started at 3 Oclock AM to fish with RW and JD at Br. S's Too many fishermen, turned

at 3 PM didn't get done cultivating

22 Went to Br inlaw S Lehmans my Mother went with us as far as JB's she intends to visit

Cloudy PM Confirmed news of the fight at Fort Erie the Queen's Own ridgement 400 strong
fought & partly defeated the whole Fenian force from 1000 to 1500 strong.

Revd George Rupp of Cumberland County & --- Moyer of Lancaster County P.A. US. this
was Sacrement day Went to Finlaws W. rainy Cool
17 Went to B'S AM Shot 5 squirrels PM W. ridged up PM W. fine clear pretty wet plowing
18 both ridged up W. cloudy all day
19 both ridged up. Subscribed 2 shares $20 in a proposed Joint Stock Company to be
erected at Cedar Grove for the Manufacture of Cheese W. cloudy a little drissly AM Clear PM

30th Birthday. W fine clear the roads have been very bad for the season of the year

6 a whole waggon load of us went to the town of Collingwood on the Georgian bay 5 miles
from Mr Shirks it is a beautiful place with Considerable business large sawmill Grist mills &
{Tanneries?} returned with Brillingers who took us to Abraham Doners where we staid all

7 Abraham Doner Took us to Stayner Station this morning where we took the Cars for
Thornhill Where we arrived about 10 AM Where after some waiting Old AB met us & brought
us home where we found all our family well. Blessed be God for the same. & we enjoyed our
