September, 1925. 9. Wednesday. Dreary & sultry. Ella did her washing. The men were plowing. Walter, Ella & Vernon went to a corn roast at Emerson Krauter's at Heidelberg. Bridge's & Elmo's were there too. 10 Thursday. Dreary. Some showers. Early this morning Jno Geisel's driving shed was struck by lightning and burned down with the cornets included his car, tractor buggie, etc. Walter went to Elmira this morning also called on Norman Snider. Walterm, Ella & Vernon went to a corn roast at Emerson Krauter's Heidelberg Bridge's and Elmo's were there too. 11 Friday. Sultry. Thunderstorms Walter and Ella attended Geo Mogh's funeral this forenoon. The men were cleaning seed grain wheat. Pat Casey's barn was burned near Parker tonight. The threshing machine of Frank Fairweather of Alma was in the barn and was destroyed.
