October, 1925 15 Thursday. Fine day. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira today. Bruno Kinzie and George Maurer were painting some windows here today and were here for tea. Aaron Brubacher & Ephiain Snider were for supper and Chos. J. Hilliard was here for dinner. 16 Friday. Fine weather. Rain tonight Walter got cider and apple batter made at Floradale this morning. Bruno Kinzie and George Maurer were puttying windows and were here for dinner. 17 Saturday. Rain this morning. The men brought in 8 loads of mangels this afternoon. Aubrey helped to thresh at Koepke's this morning. 18 Sunday. Changeable. We went to Elmira church & S.S. this morning and were at Mrs. Allgeir's for dinner. We went to Woolwich church & S.S. this p.m. did up the chores and went to Grandpa Maurer's for supper. Aubrey took his mother to Drayton and ^she was quite well and at midgnight his brother called up to say she was dead.
