July Tuesday 27 1926 Alex and I went to Mr Sayles barn dance. A dandy night, a big crowd, but the music was punk. However I had a good time thanks to Jean. Wednesday 28 {blank} Thursday 29 {blank} July Friday 30 1926 The girls entertained the boys at the regular U.F.Y.P.O {meeting held? - words are overwritten} at Carrs. The boys supplied the lunch and served cake and ice cream. Carl and the boys brought me home in the Ford. Saturday 31 Down town at night and had a fine time with Jean and the gang in Dodge Brothers sedan. August Sunday 1 Not a very nice day but had a good time when a whole gang came down here for a picnic dinner. Met my cousin Ethel Lackey for the first time Took Jean and her for their first boat ride on the Grand and got stuck in the rapids on the rocks.
