Jan 1st Monday Mild - Isabel called in the morning for parcel for up the hill. {C Jevors? or Favors} for New Year's dinner - lucky spiders, kewpies {dolls}, Fumsups {good luck charms} - rabbit foot. Book for mother & candy for Jack. After dinner Mr. Dorkman called and Mrs. Beattie, Ted & Douglas Graham, Duncan & Dorothy had a chess tournament and Jen & Vic Mair called. Elmer King came over about 4 p.m. and Sang and played for us. 5 o'clock tea. After tea Duncan, Douglas & Ted came back & played chess again.
Jan 2nd Tuesday Cold - Snowing in the afternoon. Florence & Irene Halliday called before the afternoon train, on which they went home after spending holidays at Mr-M-a.'s. Jen dropped in on her way from the Station and Marguerite & Will Grover were here.
