March, 1928. 26 Monday. Dreary, misty day. Thunderstorms and rain tonight. Ella did her washing. This afternoon Walter, Ella & Vernon went back to the bish and tapped over 70 trees. Callers today were- Sam Horst & Charles Miller. 27 Tuesday. Turned cold during the night. Very cold & stormy today There was a farewell party at Lincoln Weaver's tonight and we went up and had a very nice time. 28 Wednesday. Cold and windy Snowflurries. Walter was butchering at John Kuhl's today. Charles Miller spent the evening here. 29 Thursday. Fair. Cold east wind Walter shipped hogs at Elmira, had his dinner at Earl Miller's and went to Bob Marshall's sale with Earl. George Koepke & Irvin Toletski visited us tonight. 30 Friday. Cold. Snowing & storming Walter butchered a big pig for Charles Miller today and Charlie was here all day and helped.
