May, 1928. 8 Tuesday. Fine and warm. The men were seeding. Ella was digging garden and planted beets, carrots, onions, lettuce & radishes. Walter spent the evening in Creekbank. 9 Wednesday. Fine warm day. Walter helped Ella finish the garden today. Ella planted peas, lettuce, ground almonds, linaria, phlox, candytuft, clarkia, nigella and annual chrysanthemum 10 Thursday. Changeable. A few sprinkles of rain this morning. Walter shipped hogs this morning and took 3 pigs down in the wagon. Vernon was cultivating Ella planted the Irish Cabbler potatoes in the garden also sowed portulaca, poppies, zinnias, calendula, cosmos, marigolds, calliopsis and four-o-clocks.
