July, 1928. 23 Monday. Fine day. Earl Miller came up this morning and helped the men hoe turnips. Ella came along and helped with the washing and they were here for dinner. This p.m. Walter cut a piece of timothy and Vernon was raking. They brought in 1 load of hay. 24 Tuesday. Fine day. Walter finished cutting this morning and they brought in 11 loads of hay today. Sam Horst helped this afternoon and was here for tea. 25 Wednesday. Lovely day. The men were haying and brought in 10 loads. Sam Horst helped and was here for dinner and supper. 26 Thursday. Fine warm day. Walter shipped hogs this morning. They finished haying and brought in the last 5 loads, making a total of 48 loads of hay. Sam Horst helped and he got the last two loads. Tonight, Ella visited Mrs. Louis Miller while the men went down to Dave Lolls
