August, 1928. 1 Wednesday. Fine warm day. The men were hoeing turnips. Mrs. Louis Miller and Mrs. Margaret Crowe of Monroe, Winsconsin visited Ella today and were here for tea 2 Thursday. Hot & sultry. Thunder-storms and rain tonight. Walter shipped hogs today. Ella went berry-picking in Louis Miller's bush with Edna Miller. Callers tnoight- Harvey Schmidt, Mr. & Mrs. Enoch Schneider and Eva. 3 Friday. Sultry & threatening Heavy shower tonight. The men hoed turnips this a.m. and drew some wood {?} the woodshed thus p.m. Ella was canning raspberries and blueberries. Miriam Maurer and Wilfrid Underwood were married this evening by Rev. Becker. 4 Saturday. Thunderstorms all day. The men brought in the rest of the wood. Charles Hilliard came up for tea.
