October, 1928 1 Monday. Fair. Ella worked in the garden today. The men helped her pick the soup beans. They were plowing today. 2 Tuesday. Dreary, drizzly day. The men plowed all day. Ella was canning peaches. 3 Wednesday. Very foggy this morning. Warm summer-like day. Vernon was plowing. Walter helped to pick up potatoes at his Dad's all day. Ella did the washing. 4 Thursday. Fair and warm. Walter helped at his Dad's all day and they finished the potatoes and brought in some hay. Vernon plowed. Roy and Sonny came up from Kitchener today as there is no school on account of Teacher's Convention. 5 Friday. Showery. The men plowed this a.m. Walter went to Elmira this p.m. Walter & Ella went to Norman Snyder's tonight and brought Esther Miller along home.
