September, 1929. 11 Wednesday. Lovely cool day. The men finished drawing the wood into the woodshed. Vernon helped to saw wood at Noah Miller's this afternoon. Mr. Ward got 50 young roosters tonight. 12 Thursday. Fine day. Vernon took the drill home to Sim. Weaver's and the saw to Elmo King's this morning. This p.m. Walter helped to saw wood at Geo. Schneider's and Vernon was drawing manure 13 Friday. Showers this morning and drizzly all forenoon. First rain for weeks. Walter went to Elmira with the mail man and brought the car home, then took some plums down to Bonn's and Grandpa Maurer's. 14 Saturday. Cloudy. Rained tonight. The men finished plowing sweet clover sod. This p.m. we all went to Kitchener and had our tea at Edith's. Lois had a birthday party. Vernon and Ella saw "Noah's Ark" at the Capitol.
