October, 1929 1 Tuesday. Lovely day. Will King called on Walter this morning. This afternoon Walter, Ella & Mrs. Earl Miller went to Kitchener. We had our tea at Edith's and called at Lincoln Weaver's. Vernon plowed. 2 Wednesday. Dull cloudy & cold. Walter helped to pick up potatoes at his Dad's all day and Vernon plowed. 3 Thursday. Cold cloudy & windy. Walter & Vernon helped to thresh buckwheat at Noah Miller's this forenoon. This p.m. they brrought in 3 loads of mangels. Sam Horst helped them. Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Shierholtz and Stewart called here this afternoon. 4 Friday. Clear and cool. Walter drove down to Herman Ziegler's today and traded a horse on a pig. They finished the mangels this afternoon.
