Oliver and I went out taking turn about. I went to Uncle Alfred's. Edgar and I went to the river. Oliver came home. Dr. Patterson is dead. Wednesday July 30. Fine & hot. Temp. 60°. Thursday July 31. Fine & very hot. We went to the bay at the lake and Geddeses went too. Friday July 3 August 1. Fine & warm. Arthur & Edgar were in and also Oliver. Saturday August 2. Fine & hot. Temp. 58°. Edgar was staying in all day. {Helen?} came in and is staying in. Noble came home. Sunday Aug. 3 Fine & hot. Temp. 58°. Monday Aug. 4. Fine & warm. Temp. 54°. Noble & I went out to Scott's. We are hoeing & taking in one load of hay. Mr. Myers was here. Mon. Tuesday Aug. 5 Fine & warm. Temp. 46°. We were hoeing most of the day & took in the rest of the hay. Mr. Myers went away. Wednesday Aug. 6. Dull & cool with a sprinkle of raiin. Temp. 60°. Singling turnips. J. Scott & J. Maxwell were away all day.
