January 6 - 1914. Dull & cold. Temp. 22°. Uncle Sandy was in and Uncle Alfred brought some more wood. We organized to form a night at the school. January 7. -1914 Dull & mild. Temp. 29°. We started to give the cow the new hay and we started a crock of butter. Uncle Andrew was in to-day. Thursday Jan 8. Dull and warm. Temp. 30°. Friday Jan 9. Dull & warm with rain. Temp. 27. James and Ethel Christie were in. Saturday Jan 10- Dull and cold with sbiw. Temp. 25°. Uncle Alfred and Edgar were in with chop in the morning and Arthur and Edgar with logs in the afternoon. Uncle Sandie John Oliver and Alex were in in the afternoon. The Farmer's Institute met here this afternoon. I got a new collar to-day.
