S. 1st. Robt Fred and myself picking potatoes half day. This afternoon attended the Anual meeting of the New church Society of Port Elgin.
Posted Father's letter to Aunt George.
W. 2nd. Working at the root house. Bought of Gordon 1 lb. of blue 25c. 1 gal. coal oil. Seap 321/2 c. Axe handle 20 c.
Th. 3rd. Working at the root house. Fred helping all day Robert half day.
F. 4th. Working at root house. Fred half day.
S. 5th. Working at the shed preparing it for the chickens also the cellar for the potatoes.
M. 7th. Election day. Paid Mr. Belzner One Dolr. for the use of his boar by my sow. Tallow of Mrs J. Goble 71/2 lbs.
T. 8th. Helping Levi Eby to saw wood at Hugoes.
W. 9th. Helping Levi Eby to saw in Hugoe's Bush.
Th. 10th. Fixing chickens house.
F. 11th. Finished fixing chicken's house and put two lights into the cow stable. Bought of Gordon 5 darning needles ten cent spool, 1/4 lb of tea. 5 lbs of common nails. 1 lb of wrought nails, two lbs of sugar 11/2 dozen cups and saucers. I have omitted some day six panes of glass at ten cents per pane.
S. 12th. Hauled a load of wood for the Doctor which with that I hauled in on Saturday makes a cord and a quarter and this added to that I hauled previously makes three Cords and a half at One Dolr and fifty cents per Cord. Makes $5.25 cts. this is a little more than the Doctors A/C but we have concluded to call it straight. Sold Mr Bell 9 B. 50 lbs of potatoes at 50 cents per Bushl. Received payment four Dolrs. Eighty Ninety cents. Sold Henry Salter 11/2 B. of Oats at 30 c, per bush received payment 45 c.
