developed into quite a little storm and came at intervals all morning but cleared up pretty well this after noon, but for awhile after breakfast there was a regular hurricane. It seemed to blow from all quarters and created a great commotion but its fury didn't last long and soon quieted down to an ordinary high wind for the rest of the day. Mr. Millman left about ten o'clock when the storm was pretty well over and went up to Vittoria. Mrs. Millman went down to Aunty's and they stayed there to-night. Tim's delicate state of health prevented him from going out in the rain to-day so he has been home from school again all day. Dad decided we had better clean up our seed wheat this morning so cleaned out the barn and got the fanning mill working. Tom came over this morning to see if he could borrow the mill, the same idea having struck him, so Dad. told him to come over about four o'clock and we would be finished. However he and Mark came over right after dinner so they helped us put ours through and then took the mill, we just cleaned up 11 bags as we thought that would sow it. Bill Donald came back this after noon to cut corn and cut till dark, and has about 50 rows yet to cut. Gint Rankin came over this after noon with seven cats the kind they have at shows and offer premiums of good cigars for knocking one over, three throws for 10 cts. He wanted me to paint cat faces on them, so I got a picture of a cat and did my best, painted a face on both sides of each cat and soaked Yint $1.50. He seemed quite satisfied and started off for Langton where they are holding a fair to-morrow. Quint has been up in Kitchener all week where they were holding some sort of old boy's reunion. Quint is selling hot dogs & cupie dolls. Saturday October 1st Bill came over bright and early this morning to finish the corn and I went out with him and took old Harry out. He finished about ten o'clock and left his binder in the yard here as he drove over in his democrat and doesn't know where he will go next with the binder.
