I went up town with Aunty Alice & Marj. Aunty Alice went over to Cal. Smith's to play bridge. I went down to the Cooks for a few minutes. Young Doc. is in bed with a cold. From there I went down to the Mann's and took Oliver a couple of books from Aunty. I had arranged to meet him to-night anyway to chart him. I charted him although it wasn't very satisfactory as Nanny & young Reed were there. I went to band practice from there and after band practice which lasted till after 10.30 I went over to the Smith's to call for Aunty Alice as I had promised. We had coffee & cake after I got there so it was pretty late when we got back to Aunty's where Marj. was waiting for me and quite late when Marj. & I eventaully got home and she was pretty well tired out. Tuesday December 6th This was election day and I didn't vote. None of us in this household did. I was rather undecided about it but as the roads are so fierce and I was sure of losing my vote anyway and I was busy all day doing chores I didn't feel much like going out to Wiggins just to lose my vote. I went down to the mill this morning and got some more heavy chop for the pigs and some of Charlie Iveys new patent John S. Martin poultry mash. Marj. went down town this after noon and I walked over as far as Martin's with her but didn't see anyone but Else as I think they were all down voting. Dad. went down to see Aunty & Aunty Alice to-night but I didn't go down. He saw Jack Martin who told him that Wallace had beaten Sutton by about 500 which wasn't as big a majority as his freinds predicted. South Norfolk went fairly well Conservative and all the municipalitys except Waterford gave Sutton a Majority. Charlotteville was the only township that didn't vote U.F.O. The Conservatives got a bad beating in the house. Meighen himself and about half his cabinet was defeated and they only have about 50 seats left, five of the provinces not having a single {scored out word} Conservative seat in Quebec and Nova Scotia went solid Liberal so that King will have to form the next Government he having about 118 seats & Crearer 64 - Too Bad.
