in order to pull themselves out of the hole She apparantly thought the same but she hasn't the strength to stand it and he being large and strong as a bull and like a bull being rather thick headed and unsympathetic has become impatient with her, till she through lonliness, home-sickness and general downheartedness decided the other day to leave the Dove-cote and so packed her grip and while he was off in the field walked out and he doesn't know where she is but Nina Stone thinks she has gone to her cousin's at Oshawa to wait there till her mother sends her money enough to return to England. I got my logs sawed the week after I took them to the mill and got over 1 {M?} of very nice lumber and only had to pay $7.35 for having it sawed. Dad. helped me take my peas to the factory and Frank helped me with my alfalfa. I just had 2700 lbs of shelled peas which was a pretty poor crop, I think the hot dry weather forced them on to fast as the straw was very short and the pods small. The alfalfa looked to be as heavy as usual but it doesn't take up much space in the barn. The last week or two I have been over home most of the time. Dad. and I got one field of hay in about 10 loads and he has more cut. I would have been over there now but it rained a little this morning and would be too wet. We also got all their peas down and they were no better than mine in fact I believe they were worse. Frank has been under the weather for the past week and the doctor told him he had a slight touch of pleurisy and must keep quiet for a few days so that has put us back. Band concerts have started again and I was down last night. We had a big celebration and an enormous crowd here on the first and they want us to go to Nanticoke on Tuesday next to play at the old boy's reunion. We went for a moon light excursion on the Colonial one moonless night in June and had a very enjoyable time besides swelling the band funds considerably as they gave us part of the proceeds and there was a large crowd on board. Roy. Vernon and the children came up a little before Zeitha's wedding which was on the 27th of June and Roy was here till after the First, and is coming back for his holidays about the 1st of August.
