Nov 1 Revd Mr Dowsley preached this morning very stormy snow & rain at night Ad came home at night
2 snow about 1 1/2 inches last night Mr Dowsley here all night Ad plowed in the north end of the north field this afternoon snow all gone
3 Ad plowed in the north field I fixed the carrots pit
4 Do Do Do I went to Mr Keers & Mr ________ Darlings with the Revd Mr Dousley Mr Kees was very poorly he a great deal better fine day looks like Indian summer the sun is red & the air is very smokie
rain 5 Ad plowed I shoveled a cross furrow in the North west half of north field fine morning rain in the afternoon & after dark
6 fine morning Ad is plowing this forenoon went & helped John Moore to thrash in the afternoon
7 /Ad went to plowing bee of the Widow McNiels
8 I went to Fairfax with Revd Mr Dousley this morning he preached then took dinner at John McCormics went with Mr Dousley to visit Mrs Strom she is very sick he preached here at night Mr Roberson preached in the morning
9 Ad plowed in the North field fine day Mr John Wilkinson & Thomas Rosbeck came this morning to drill for water to give them $2.50 per foot
10 Ad finished plowing the Northeast part of the North field this forenoon I cleaned out the furrows in it he tried to plow the field at the old house it is to dry
11 Ad plowed the potato ground cold day
12 hard frost last night Ad cannot plow he thrashed peas with the horsesfor the hogs put the cows in every morning & feed them there is very little for them to eate
13 Ad helped Bruce McNiel to thrash he took the horses
14 Ad did not come home till to night I went an Agriculture meeting at Westons fine day the drillers has drilled about 9 feet there is 6 feet of water in the hole
15 Revd Mr Dowsley this morning & Mr Cuningham at night
{illegible} was to charles Raths 16 the drillers worked at the well they have gonne 10 feet 7 inches & thinks that we will have watter enought
