drove here with father's horse. we had our New Year's
Turkey for dinner. they stayed all night & we had
a pleasant evening. Nellie has a school at the
locks if she gets her certificate.
dinner taking Eva & Louie hack with them. Trustees
met here today. School will not open till next week.

5 Rather snowey. George, Charlie & I went to tea at
Mitchell's. Geo came home early we had a pleasant
evening.

7 Horrid stormy day. Mr. Vincent c a m e back from
Falkenburg. School teacher arrived.
to church at night & I played Mr. Mitchell's farewell
service.
9 Mr. V. went back to Hays. turned cold.
10 Very cold snap. 40° below. Denned up. (dened up)

Moderated after noon. Lucy drove the children home.
Party at the Hall. Geo & I went for an hour. Charlie
stayed all night. Mr. V. came & stayed the night.

12 Nice bright day. Mr. V. went to Thomses. I called
at the Parsonage. Mr. Lloyd & his son were there.

Jar. 19 We had Miss Botterill to tea. Mr. Mitchell called
he came up to find his cat. Mr. V. came back & we
had a good game of cards.
20 George had a sick headache. He & Mr. V. sat up till
past 12 finishing the books for the meeting tomorrow.
21 Violet's birthday. She had 6 children here. Torry
& Mr. Vincent stayed over night. Geo & Mr. V went
to Cheese meeting.
22 Wall Thoms came & took the Vincents home.

G & I went

23 I have a bad cold & can scarcely speak.
24 We washed.

Mr. V came back at night.

25 Mr. V. went to Utterson & stayed to Oyster Supper.
Our colds are a little better.
26 Snow, snow more coming every day. Mr. Vincent came
back in the afternoon staved till Sunday morning.

7 Baby took sick last night & was like a coal of fire

Feb. 8 Finished washing, baby no better. V/e sent for Dr.
Hart as baby is having slight convulsions. She has
La Grippe. We got Mr. Brymer to come & take her
temperature. Mrs. Forrest came & stayed the afternoon.
9 Baby still feverish. Mrs. Forrest came again & did the
ironing & baking. Turned cold.
10 Very cold morn. Sam & Annie & Clara came & Sam went
back after dinner.
11 Very cold. baby still bad.
12 Coldest night yet. 44 below. No service. Mrs.
Forrest called. moderated a little. Sent for Mr.
Brymer in the evening.
13 Baby much better. George & Clara went off this morn.
G. to bbridge & Clara to Toronto. Nice sharp day.
Annie & I walked up to Ladells.
14 We washed. Baby is very hoarse but is better of the
fever. still very cross. cold.
15 Much milder. warm night.
16 Lovely day. Louie & Violet went out for the first
time. Mr. Christie came. Commenced to get milk
from Mrs. J. Watson.
17 Nice mild day, I took the children out went in to
Forrests & saw the Mitchells. Mr. M. had evening
service.
of our doors & shovelling snow off the roofs. Baby
seems nearlv all right but still looks pale.
19 We had a walk after dinner.

No service.

20 We started for Toronto on the morning train and arrived
about 3 o'clock.
21 Commenced to get11/2qts of milk from Watsons

Horrible stormy day, we all stayed in but Charlie.

Pleasant day. Charlie went to spend the day at Thomse's.
Mr. & Mrs. Thoms & two of the girls came to tea. Laura
stayed all night.

up to Ladells. Laura & I went to Church at night.
Baby was very feverish and restless and I did not get
much sleep.
Due for milk $1.98.
11 Thawing. Baby poorly all day with feverish cold.
12 Mr. Vincent was here till afternoon. Babv poorly.
Thawing. Louie got her eye scratched by a cat.

May 13 Wet day. We cleaned Kitchen yesterday which winds
up the housecleaning. Baby much better but she went
out in the afternoon which gave her a relapse.

Geo. drove Mr. Spencer to Brunel

Seymours & sold them an organ. Eva & I called at
Forrests & saw Mr. F who is up. baby is feverish
for a while every afternoon.

June 18 Sunday. Wet afternoon. We went to Church at night.

Ethel came and stayed while Mother & the 2 children

between Pt. S. & Utterson, a "tie".

to Lawrence's and after tea drove up past Dodd's in the
new cart.

I went twice to Church.

meeting at Mrs. Forrests but there was no meeting.
Mrs. & Minnie Forrest & I rowed over to their island
in the evening which was lovely.

Clara came & we all went to see the wedding at the

over to the party at Thomses. I hope Laura will be
happy. we got home at 4 a.m.

came & took lizzie & her children home & brought Eva
after tea.

drowned. Johnnie's body is not receovered yet.

followed the bodies to the grave.

Gem to Deerhurst and had an enjoyable day. Geo

back late to practise. Cow went away.

and pleasant, we washed. I went out on the lake to
run the fish line with Geo. got two fish.

Forrests&took baby. Went out to the line again
in boat.

Fine. We invited the Doss & Forrest to tea but onlv
the Forrests came. The four children went to Willie
Chester's party.
7 Lovely day. I rowed the children over to Thomses
we only made a short call. Ruth has the
whooping cough, Mr. Clarke fell and sprained his leg.

Fine. I went to S.S. in the afternoon & took all
the children. George & Charlie & Eva & I went to
Church at night and I played. Rain at night.

Nov.1Hunting season begins. Nasty cold wind. Nothing was
done today but to lose the dogs. We went to the W.A.
Meeting at the Parsonage. I took Louie & baby.
Mr. Atkinson fell down his well after dark & sprained
his wrist badly.

Our 4 hunters hunted dogs, no success. Nice day.
Eva & I went to Choir Practice. Mr .A. is in considerable
pain.

Snowy & bad walking. Geo & Charlie drove to Avery's
for the dogs. Geo came back at night, without them
& left Charlie. Geo stayed with the childrenwhile
I and the girls went to church.

Peter. I called at Atkinson's, he is better.

The hunters went out with Peter this morning but
did not get a start. Baby and I went to Forrests.

Cleared out fine & cold. Hunter's went up to Mainhoods
but had no success. Laura Somerset & Louie Thoms came
to tea & spent the evening. Mr. V. & Cyril were also
here to tea. Annie & Minnie Brymer came in & we
played cards. Wall came in to tow his sisters part of
their way home.

Very wet day, snow disappeared. Mr. Thoms came here
to have an affidavit taken & had breakfast here.

Fine morning. we washed. Stormy snowy afternoon,
Allan McInnis did not come to kill pigs till past
& only did one. G. went to shooting match.

Began to rain & took all the snow away. Charlie & I
rowed over to Thomse's to see Laura who is ill at
her father's.

day, we got the Xmas presents.
