Tuesday May 25th I ploughed all fore noon and finished the side hill and ploughed a headland up as far as the strawberries to what I ploughed last fall. This after noon I rolled the fresh ploughing and harrowed the whole thing. Ina was here to-day and Marj. brought took her home to-night and they went down to Welsh's to get another cream can as the one he left had a hole in the bottom. Dad. drove over for a few minutes this morning, he had been at Evan's so came on out to see how we were getting along. He had two more letters from Mr. Parks telling of the court sitting on the twelfth. It is hard to understand it but things are not going very satisfactorily evidently. The Judge raised a point as to who should argue the Name & Arms clause and appointed Gavin Simonds to argue for Fenton which looks to me as if possibly even Harry B. may be out of it yet. Fine and warm. Sunday June 6th For nearly two weeks now the pressure of farming and other things has prevented me from indulging in the frivolity of diary writing so I don't intend to rack my brains trying to recall the detail of each days happenings. The weather for the most part has been dry and cold with only one or two really hot days and the same number of showers but no soaking rain such as is needed along with good hot weather to make things grow. Wednesday May 26th I disked up the piece back of the barn where I hope to put roots and ploughed out a furrow for potatoes. We have about enough Early Rose seed that Aunty Alice gave us to plant a row. I went to band practice at night and Chris asked me if I could let him have the money I owe him for the chicks before the first of June. I got a ride home with the Lemmon's and brought my horn as Ernie Knight asked us to go to Simcoe on Sunday. Thursday the 27th Dad. Enah Tim. Harry B and I all went to the circus. Aunty & Aunty Alice disapproved of Harry B going but I was anxious for him to see the animals that he knows now only by pictures. Marj. drove him down in the morning while I planted the potatoes. He stayed at Auntys for dinner and I walked down & met the rest and we all went up on the one o'clock car. Lee Bros. the proprietors of the circus proved to be true disciples
