quite overcome at the last bidding them all
goodbye. took passage by the foot of the island
landing at Rimouski point and reached the
afternoon train in time for west. received a letter
from Maggie today with abudget of news. she is
also recovering from her illness, does not meen to teach
again and seems inclined to try for an advanced certificate.
Hugh had a severe attack of colic this afternoon, called in the
doctor and he left easier at bedtime.

weather still cloudy, overcast and raw cold
no spring as yet settled.roads are drying. ice fast giving way.
no movement of ice in the river. may last all next week,
our work must be near now, come when it will. many last year had
almost done sowing at this date. mr.MacPhedran on little house,
so he at least seems sanguine regarding his stay

M.came, John & Annie visited the place and at Nelly's grave, even
this labour of love I could not join
in when shall I be able to go and see it, walked around the farm,
