Wednesday Sept 30 Fine and warm. Paisley Fair took place to-day. I did not go as I intended to. Scott went to Paisley yesterday and Noble was to go to-day but he took sick during the night and returned home after dinner.
Thursday October 1. Fine and warm. Noble is a little better
Friday October 2. Fine and warm. Noble is much better.
Saturday Oct 3. Fine and very warm. I was not in the office to-day but went out to Uncle Alfred's. We were hauling in corn in the
morning and part of the afternoon after which Edgar and I did some chopping with the engine while Arthur and Uncle Alfred continued the corn. I returned home a little after 4 p.m. Jessie and Isabel and Miss. Currie were in town this afternoon.
Sunday October 4. Fine and warm. We were all at church except Noble. In the evening I went to the harvest home at the Methodist Church. This is the first time I have heard Rev. Dr. Scanlan. I like his preaching very well. There will be a different minister, the one in Cargill.

Monday October 5, fine and warm. Noble almost well though still week. I was at the library and took out two books and a magazine.
Tuesday October 6 fine and warm
Wednesday October 7 fine and warm. Tara Fair is being held to-day. I got a suit of cloth at McGillevray's to try on.
Thurday October 8 fine and warm with rain in the morning
Friday October 9 fine and warm
Saturday October 10 warm and wet. John Geddes came home from Stratford Kincardine High
school {Pa?} won a football match from Port Elgin by 1 to 0 and in basketball 11-9. Oliver Christie and Uncle Gilbert went in.
Sunday October 11 Dull and cool. Papa and mamma went to Church in the morning and Noble and I went to the Baptist Church at night. There was no service in the Presbyterian Church at night as Mr Mann was taken ill.
Monday October 12 Dull and warm. Thanksgiving Day. Noble went out to Scott's. The rest of us went out to Christie's. I had a shot at a partridge for the
first time and missed it.

Saturday October 17 Fine and Rain in the morning but fine in the afternoon. Southampton High School BasketBall team played against
Port Elgin. Port Elgin won by 20-0
Sunday October 18. Fine and warm. Papa and Olive went to the Methodist Church in the morning and Noble and I went to the Presbyterian. At night Noble and I went to the Baptist church and where there was a Baptism.
Monday October 19 Fine & warm Uncle Alfred and Arthur were in with pigs to-day.

Sunday October 24 Dull and cool. Edgar and Isabel were in {scribbled out}. In the morning Edgar and I went to the Methodist Church where to which the Company of Militia marched. In the evening Noble and I went to the Presbyterian Church.

Wednesday October 28. Dull and cold Snow fully gone in morning. with rain in afternoon. Uncle Alfred and Edgar were in for apple-butter. Uncle Andrew was in with potatoes.
Thursday October 29 Cool and wet. In the afternoon I went for a walk and saw three partridge and a black squirrel.

Saturday October 31 Fine and mild. I went out to Uncle Andrew's to pick apples. I picked one barrel of spies and two bags of baldwins. Uncle Gilbert and Ethel were in town.

Thursday November 12 Dull and wet with snow in the evening. The concert of J.G. Rockwell's Sunny South Troupe was held to-day to-night at the Town Hall. At noon they had a "Koontown Parade"
I went to the concert.
Friday November 13 Wet in the morning and cold during rest of day. Uncle Sandy way was in town with Bessie, who went down to Stratford to stay a week. This is Papa's birthday
Saturday November 14 Fine and cool. Temp. 36°. Arthur Edgar Jessie and Alice were in town to-day.
Sunday November 15 Dull and warm with much rain. Temp 44° Noble came home to-day to stay.
Monday November 16. Cold with snow and stormy. Oliver Christie started to school

Friday November 20. Dull with snow Temp.{14/19}. A shed behind Langford's took fire at noon but was soon put out. Ethel and Jim Christie were in town to-night. While in town the recieved news that one of their horses had fallen into the cistern. The horse had been taken out without damage before they reached home.
Saturday November 21 Dull with snow. We all attended church in the morning except Papa.Nob. Uncle Alfred and Arthur were in with a load of wood
Sunday November 22 Dull and cold with snow and storm in the afternoon and evening. We all attended church in the morning except Papa. Noble went out to Uncle Alfred's in the afternoon. Oliver came in in the evening and he and I went to the Prebyterian church at night.

Sunday December 6 Cold and fair but dull in afternoon We we were all in church in the morning to hear Mr. Mann. Rev. Mr. Edmisson occupied the pulpit in the morning evening and Noble and I went to hear him.
monday December 7 Fair and cold. Temp. 26° I went out to Burgoyne.
Tuesday December 8 Dull and cold. Edgar went round by the road with the wagon to
Erastus Ferguson's to bring back the disk plough harness etc. purchased at his sale and also a pump. In the afternoon we were putting the pump in the water well which we discovered was full of water.
Wednesday December 9. Dull and cold. We were cutting straw, in the morning. In the afternoon Edgar and I went up to Geddes. Oliver and Edgar and I went shooting but got nothing except two red squirrels.
Thursday December 10 Fair with a little snow. Oliver and I went hunting and got a black squirrel. Oliver, Alex
and I went down to Uncle Alfred's to skate.
Friday December 11. Fine and cold. Oliver and I came in this morning afternoon
Saturday December 12 Dull and Mild. James Christie was in for their mailbox.
Sunday December 13. Snow in morning and evening Temp. 29° Noble, Olive and I went to church in the morning and at night Noble and I went to the Baptist Church.

Gilbert came in to a council meeting. John Geddes came home from Stratford and Oliver came in for him.
Wednesday December 16, Stormy with snow. Temp. 13°. Uncle Gilbert went home. Donald was in with bowls.
Thursday, December 17 Stormy with a heavy snow-fall. Temp. 18°. Mr. Wood brought a load of hay to-day. The rink was open to-night for the first time this winter.

Tuesday December 22. Stormy Temp 16°. James Christie came to town for their mail. Papa did not go down to the office to-day. I got some gold fish which Geddes's had obtained a Crawford's.

with heavy snow fall. Temp 2°. We got a turkey which we had ordered from J. T. Wallace and a goose as a present from John Duke. Noble was up at Southampton.
Thursday December 24. Cold with snow, Temp 14. Arthur was in with a load of wood for the office. The order come from the T. Eaton Co. To-night is Christmas Eve. Papa received as presents, The Times War maps, two neckties, and some handkerchiefs. Momma received a sweater coat, Olive received a shell ornamented chiffonier, a belt, and an underskirt. Noble received a combination knife, a book on farming, a shaving pad and stick, I received an overcoat, two neckties and some handkerchiefs.
Friday December 25 Christmas Day Snowing. Temp 2°.
Saturday December 26 Heavy snow fall. Arthur was in with a load of wood. Oliver and James were in at the rink.
Sunday December 27. Snowy and windy. Temp 15. Noble Olive and I were at church this morning and Noble and I in the evening. Mr Lane Reb. Mr. Lane occupied the pulpit.
Monday December 28 Snow in morning, fine at night. Temp 17°. Uncle Gilbert
and Aunt Jeannie were in toward, Arthur and Agnes were in town and Noble went out with them to go to Richardson's sale which takes place to-morrow.

Thursday December 31 Cold with snow. This is my sixteenth birthday I received as presents a cob, pair of gloves and
a collar box.
Friday January 1- 1915. Cold and stormy. Temp 8°. Olive and I went to prayer meeting this morning. The band serenaded this afternoon.
Saturday January 2- Cold and stormy. Temp 22°. Papa did not go down to the office this morning. Uncle Gilbert, Ethel, Mr. and Mrs Jean and Ethel Hill were in town this afternoon.
Sunday January 3 Fine and cool. Temp 5°. We were all at church but Papa Noble and I were at the Methodist Church in the evening.

Tuesday January 5 Finde and mild. Temp 20°. Edgar was in with a load of wood.
Wednesday January 6 Dull and warm with rain. Temp 30°. Edgar was in with wood. Ethel and Helen Christie were in town. According to the recount in Saugeon G. Christie got 242 votes and D Smith 241. J.B Wallace brought us in with a quarter of beef.
Thursday January 7. Dull and cold with high wind. Papa did not go down to the office. We cut wh the quarter of beef.
Friday January 8. Dull and cold. Temp 22. Mrs. Bock slipped on some ice and fell as she was coming over here and broke a small bone in her wrist.
Saturday January 9 Fine and cold. Oliver and Alex Geddes were in town and took home their goldfish. Uncle Andrew Aunt Minnie and Helen Hamilton were in town here for supper. Uncle Alfred and Arthur were in here after supper and Arthur was skating.

morning except Papa. Oliver came in this afternoon and in the evening the three of us went to the Methodist Church where there was a special service to inaugurate the new pipe organ.
Monday March 15. Fine and cold. Noble and I attended a sale at Fred Atkinson's near Arkwright. Noble bought two neck-yokes and a two-year old heifer. We reached home at 10 P.M.
Tuesday March 16. Fine and cold. Arthur was in to the
dentists and Noble returned with him to bring over the cow which we left at Atkinsons
Wednesday March 17. Fine and cool. Dr. Geo. Veitch died last last night.
Thursday March 18. Fine and cool.
Friday March 19 Fine and cold. The funeral of Dr. Veitch took place this morning and in the afternoon of Adam Maas. Uncle Andrew, Uncle Sandy and James Christie were in town.
Saturday March 20. Fine and cold. Noble went out to Christies on the early and returned on the late train. Edgar
and Jessie was in this morning.
Sunday March 21 Dull with some snow. Papa Noble and I were at the church in the morning and Noble and I were at the Presbyterian Church in the evening.
Tuesday Monday March 23 22 Dull and cold. We took down the stove in the dining room and set up the coal-stove. Uncle Alfred was in this morning. I took sick this morning with la grippe.

Monday April 12. Dull with some rain. James and Oliver Christie came in this morning. Noble was in in the afternoon and Uncle Alfred went home with him. Mabel and Jessie were in town.
Tuesday April 13. Fine and cool. I took out the cow this morning and brought the other one in the afternoon. Noble came in part way. I saw my 100th robin this morning.
Wednesday April 14 Fine and warm. I wheeled out to Burgoyne this morning.
Arthur and I went up to Endeavour this evening. Mr. Watt called for a vote on introducing debating and received five girls voted for it. He got Arthur and I to promise to help, afterwards.
Thursday April 15 Fine and warm. I returned to town this morning.
Friday April 16 Fine and cool. Uncle Gilbert, Aunt Jeanie Donald and James were in town. Uncle Sandy, Aunt Lizzie and
Oliver were also in town.

Sunday April 18 Fine and warm but dull in the evening. We were all at church in the morning. Oliver and I were at the Anniversary Services in the Methodist Church in the evening.

Tuesday April 27 Fine and very warm. I took the wheel to Langford's and got a new cover for the front wheel and a new spoke put in. I had my first dish of ice cream.

heavy rain in the afternoon. Ethel Helen Olive Oli Oliver took out the auto car this morning and Ethel Helen Olive and Laurier reuturned with him in the morning before dinner. D. L. Christie returned with it in the afternoon to learn to drive it. They returned before supper
Sunday May 9. Fine and cold. We were all at Church in the morning. At night I went to the Presbyterian Church in the evening.
Tu Monday May 10 Fine and warm I came out to Burgoyne this morning We have been hauling out manure on to the mangel grounds.
Tuesday May 11 Fine and hot. We finished spreading manure this morning. After dinner Alex Geddes came down. I returned to town and purchased a pair of trousers at N.M. Gillivray's.
Wednesday May 12 Fine and hot with rain in the afternoon and evening. I came out to Burgoyne this morning. Noble planted theabout ½ an acre
of mangels this morning. We hauled out manure during the latter remainder part of the day. At In the evening Arthur and I went to McIvors to a Social Evening which was held instead of the regular meeting of the Christian Endeavour.

Friday May 14. Fine and warm. I came into town in the afternoon.

Port Elgin Junior defeated Aberdour 12-7. We went to the Picture Show afterwards.
Sunday May 16. Fine Dull and cool with light rain in afternoon. We were all at church in the morning. In the evenng I went to the Methodist Church.
Monday May 17. Dull and cold. The saddle of the bicycle was broken to-day.

was over to it and Papa went back with them.

Thursday May 27. There was a hard frost last night. Slightly warmer than yesterday. Noble took Papa and Mamma into town. We were sawing wood in the bush to-day.

Thursday June 10 Dull and cold with light rain in the evening. Papa and I were digging post holes in the afternoon and Noble was ploughing the summer fallow. We brought the red cow home from the bush.
Friday June 11 Dull and wet in the morning but fine in the afternoon. Papa and Mamma went into town this morning taking Tom and the buggy. We were cleaning the pipes in the morning and in the afternoon. Noble
was ploughing.
Saturday June 12. Dull in the morning fine in the afternoon. I went into town this morning. Uncle Alfred Edgar and Alice were in in the afternoon. Uncle Sandy and Alex were in in the afternoon. Arthur came in the evening. We returned home in the evening.
Sunday June 13. Dull and hot with thunderstorm in the afternoon. We were all Tuesday June 1 at church in the morning. Noble and Edgar went into a memorial service
and also attended church in town in the evening, Arthur and I were at Burgoyne church in the evening.
Monday June 14. Dull and cool. We were washing and painting the buggy today. Noble went to town on the wheel.
Tuesday June 15. Rain last night and this morning. We finished painting the buggy with a second coat. Noble and Arthur went into town in the afternoon to enlarge the stable door.
Wednesday June 16.
Fine and warm in the morning with rain in the afternoon and evening. I started to clean the single harness this morning we then went back to the bush and cut up some posts for the fence. After dinner Papa and Noble took Tom back to the bush and hauled out the posts. I varnished the buggy and put top-dressing on the top. Arthur and I went up to Endeavour to-night.
Thursay June 17. There was a very heavy rain last night. And there was a flood
at the creek. We were working at the crib and cleaning and dressing putting dressing on the single harness. We dug some post-holes in the afternoon.
Friday June 18. Fine and hot with thunderstorm in the afternoon and at night. Papa and Olive went to town taking Tom and the single buggy. We were at the bush sawing wood with the engine in the morning but the engine did not work right and we had to quit. Noble was helping Uncle Alfred in the afternoon
to wash sheep. We finished planting the turnips.
Saturday June 19. Dull and cold with rain in the morning. Noble went into town in the morning with Edgar and returned in the evening with Papa and Olive.
Sunday June 20.
Fine and warm. We were all at church in the morning and Olive and I were at Sunday school. I was also at church at to- night.
Tuesday Monday June 21.
Fine and warm. We were making the gravel box and hoeing thistles. Papa and Mamma went into town
with Tom and the buggy and are staying all night. I was at a base-ball match Burgoyne 13 High Street 5.
Tuesday June 22. Dull and cool. Papa was taken ill in town last night but is much better to-day. Noble went in on the bicycle and brought out Tom and the buggy. We were cutting thistles.
Wednesday June 23. Dull and cold. Noble started at the roadwork to-day. I was cutting thistles.
Thursday June 24. Fine and cool. Noble finished the road work
we were cutting thistle the rest of the day.
Friday June 25 Fine and cool, Cutting thistles. Fred Hanbidge brought their horse which Papa has purchased. Noble went into town with the horse (Fred), taking Olive with him and brought out Mamma. Noble and I were up at Geddes'.
Saturday June 26. Fine and hot. We were fixing the fence across the creek. I took Fred in to-night and came out on the wheel. Papa and Olive came out in the buggy
Sunday June 27 Fine and warm. Papa and Mamma were at church in the morning and Olive and I were there at night.
Monday June 28. Fine and warm. Noble and I went in to town with a load of wood took the pine lumber to the mill to planed and brought it and some plank home. We got a scuffler from J.D. McIntosh.
Tuesday June 29 Fine and hot. We were putting up the fence across the creek to-day.
Wednesday June 30 Fine and warm. We were scuffling the corn and
hoeing to-day.
Thursday July 1 Dull and hot in morning fine in afternoon. Noble and I went into town this evening.
Friday July 2. Dull with slight shower in morning, hot in the afternoon. Papa and Mamma went into town. We put up the barstack in the field at the creek and in the afternoon Noble was moving hay.
Saturday July 3 Dull and hot. I was disking to-day. Papa and Mamma returned home.
Sunday July 4 Dull and hot with heavy rain in the evening. We were all at church in the morning except Papa and Mamma who was sick. I was there in the evening.
Monday July 5 Very windy and cold. The {wind} blew off one of our barn doors. I was harrowing and disking and Noble and Papa were cutting weeds.
Tuesday July 6 Cool with very light shower in the morning. Papa Fine and bright. John Geddes returned home yesterday accompanied
by Myrtle Stait. They came down this morning. Noble was cutting the bay and raking what he cut on Friday. Papa and I were cutting weeds and fixing the bars back in the field across the creek,
Wednesday July 9. Cool with a few drops of rain in the morning and rain also in the evening. Papa Olive and I went into town to pick cherries. Uncle Gilbert and Aunt Jeannie were here to-day. I drove up to Endeavour to-night.
Thursday July 10 Fine and warm. Arthur and I drove to the Endeavour picnic this afternoon.
Friday July 10. Warm and bright. Papa and Mamma went into town this morning. We were weeding and fixing a fence. W I was up at Geddeses to-night.
Saturday July 1 Fine and hot. We are weeding to-day. We were mowing grass in the orchard to-night.
Sunday July 11. Fine Dull and warm. We were all at church in the morning
but Olive and I was there in the evening.
Monday July 12. Hot with a thunderstorm in the morning. We were fixing the fence across the creek where a post was pulled out and putting the barn door up.
Tuesday July 13. Dull and hot. Papa and Mamma were over at Christies. We were hauling out manure on to the summer fallow.
Wednesday July 14. Fine and hot. We were hauling out manure and hauling in hay.
Thursday July 15 Dull and warm with much rain. We finished hauling out the manure. In the afternoon we were scuffling and hoeing.
Friday July 16. Hot with a very heavy thunderstorm in the evening. We brought home three loads of wood from the bush and bringing wood out of the jam. Papa and Mamma went into town tonight to-day.
Saturday July 17 Dull with mist in the morning. Fine in the afternoon. We were working at the crib. Papa and Mamma returned home
Sunday July 18 Fine and hot. We were all at church in the morning and I was there at night.
Monday July 19 Cool and dull in the afternoon morning fine in the afternoon. We cut some of the boards for the crib cutting thistles and finished hauling in the hay.
Tuesday July 20 Fine and warm. Father and Olive were in town to-day. Noble was spreading manure and cutting thistles. I was disking. The Burgoyne Garden Party was held to-night.
$155 was taken at the gate and $217 altogether. Aberdour beat Burgoyne in baseball 12-11 Noble and I were at the Garden Party.
Wednesday July 21 Fine and warm. Noble finished spreading the manure and he and Papa worked at the crib. I was discing and harrowing.
Thursday July 22. Fine and cool. I disked for a while and then Noble cut the hay in the big field. Papa and I started to fix the fence at the barn. We scrubbed the potatoes beans
and corn and put poison on the potatoes.
Friday July 23 Fine and warm. Papa Mamma and and I went to town.
Saturday July 24. Dull and very warm. I came out this morning. We hauled in all the hay that is cut.
Sunday July 25. Dull and hot. We were all at church in the morning except Papa.
Monday July 25. Dull with rain in the morning. We fixed the ladder on the rack
which we broke on Saturday. Monday July 26 and took off the hay.
Tuesday July 27. Fine and warm. We had to dig out all the the earth around the crib of the cistern in order to put in the new one.
Wednesday July 28. Dull and warm with a light shower of rain. We hauled out the timber for the rack. Noble was helping Uncle Alfred to stook wheat in the afternoon.
Thursday July 29 Fine and hot. I was helping Uncle Alfred to haul in hay to-day Noble was cutting the other
part of the timothy field. Noble helped to haul in after summer.
Friday July 30. Fine and hot. Papa and Mamma. I was helping Uncle Alfred to finish hauling in and the coiled up the hay which Noble raked up.
Saturday July 31. Fine and very warm. Noble and I hauled in five loads of hay and finished the timothy. Edgar helped us with one load. Papa and Mamma returned home.
Sunday August 1 Fine and hot. Papa Mamma and Olive were at Church in the morning and I was there at night.
Monday August 2 Dull with a little rain in the afternoon. Papa and Olive went into town in the buggy and Noble went in for shingles for the house roof.
Tuesday August 3 Dull with heavy rain. Arthur helped us to get ready part of the scaffold for shingling. Alex Geddes was down in the afternoon.
Buschlen was out and put the pump into the cistern.
Wednesday August 4 Dull with rain in the morning and evening. We put up the scaffold and did a little shingling. Arthur was helping us. Aunt Lizzie Robbie and Florence were here for dinner.
Thursday August 5 Dull with a light shower in morning and heavier one at night. We were working cleaning up the out the stables till about the 9 a.m. and then shingled
the rest of the day.
Friday August 6 Dull with short heavy showers in evening. Papa and Noble went to town this morning and returned home this evening.
Saturday August 7 Dull with a little rain in the evening. Papa and Olive went to town this morning and returned this evening Sunda We finished shingling the roof.
Sunday August 8. Fine and warm. We were all at Church in the morning ad Olive and I were
there in the evening at Sunday School. Noble went to the Methodist Church in Port Elgin in the evening and I went to Burgoyne.
Monday August 9. Dull with heavy mist. Papa and Mamma went to town. We took the cleats off the roof and cleared up more of the shingles.
Tuesday August 10 Fine and hot. We cut our wheat to-day and finished staking the fence at the clover field. Geddes' were down at the for a load
of straw.
Wednesday August 11. Hot. We finished cutting the wheat and the fence corners. hoed some corn and took down the scaffold. Noble and I went up to Endeavour
Thursday August 12 Warm with heavy rain. We were working clearing up the stable and flooring the stall.
Friday August 13. Misty and rainy in early morning. Fine rest of day. Papa Mamma and I drove into town this morning and I returned in the evening.
Saturday August 14 Fine and hot. I drove in with the buggy. Noble took the team in and returned after
dinner. Mamma Papa and I returned in the evening.
Sunday August 15. Hot and dull. We were all at church in the morning. Noble and I were there in the evening.
Monday August 16 Hot with slight shower in morning and heavier one in evening. Noble Edgar cut our barley field across the creek and Noble and I stooked it.
Tuesday August 17. Fine and cool. Noble cut the second crop of clover. I was helping
Uncle Alfered's with their barley.
Wednesday August 18 Fine and cool. Papa and Noble finished the (weht = wheat?} this morning. I helped Uncle Alfred's with their barley, this morning. Uncle Alfred and Edgar came with their team and wagon and helped us to haul in our wheat (6 loads) and hay in fence corners. Then we helped Unce Alfred's to haul in their mixed grain.
Thursday August 19 Fine and warm. Edgar was cutting our Daubegne oats at the road
until suppertime and Noble cut the rest after supper.
Friday August 20. Fine and warm. Papa and Mamma went into town. We raked the hay and part of the wheat stubble and coiled part of the hay.
Saturday August 21. Dull and warm with very heavy rain in the evening. We finished raking the wheat stubble and couling the hay. We brought in the wheat rakings and one load of hay and two loads of barley.
