{Hand writing from July 23, 1906 to August 24, 1906 is quite different with different spellings also e.g. Wednesday instead of James Bowman's usual "Wensday", and it may be that someone else maintained the diary while Mr. Bowman was out west. Different handwriting and style from Wednesday August 19, 1906 to October 16, 1906 when James Bowman again indicates he was away; however, this time more of his comments esp. re: purchases and breeding cattle are made in his handwriting; also November 14th to November 18th when James Bowman indicated that he was going to Fergus Ontario and north. He inspects cattle on November 19th and he leaves again on November 20th to December 3rd for Western Ontario.}
