June 1884

1 Sunday a good number to church today
2 I went to the Gore and got 3 bush potatoes Bell Chisholm died last evening
3 very hot no water to wash we got our cistern patched yesterday by Cameron he is working at Gadboe's We had a letter from Ranald Campbell. he is in Texas, And has been poorly for more than 3 years. sowed beets & mangolds
6 Still hot and dry. Am working at Birds polonaise {an overdress which resembled a long coat worn over an underskirt, sometimes with a waistcoat effect}
5 Thursday. Very hot and dry 2 lb rice 11 1/2 sugar 25

11 Looks like rain I was sick all day
