August 1886

2 Monday. washed. fine day
3. rained. Churned. got 4 loaves bread 20 =
4. Boys working at hay.
5. Womans. Meeting. at A.C. McDonald's my offering 2 1/2 yds of yellow calico 25 = each 15 cts. Got at Juste 1 bottle machine oil 12 cts
7 Mopped. baked and done some other things. Yesterday I went out with the boys. who are cutting hay on the Carrivonie place. And I went to see Mrs Far. Ban MacLennan who is lying bound in bed with a fractured thigh. It is doing nicely. I took dinner at Far. Donn's, And met Mrs Andrew McLennan of Ottawa. Christy Down drove me to Donald Roy's McLennan to see his younger son Farquher who is near the end of his journey. he has not been consious of any thing since Wednesday: The English name of his disease is consumption of the brain, since Monday he has been paralyzed since Tuesday. I rode home with Mr McGillavray
8 Fie day. a greate number in church. Far McLennan died last night will be buried tomorrow. Mrs Dugalds formerly of Williamstown, at the time of her death living at Maxwell, will be buried tomorrow
9 Not much done by us. The two funerals took place Duncan Masson & daughter took tea with us
10. A greate appearance of fire
11. was at prayer meeting boys finished the hay.
12. A Great circus at Cornwall today, I made a number of visits, sick calls. first to see Ruban Burton who had cholora, he is some better, then to Mrs McRae & Mrs McLennan. both better today then to see Anne. and on my home got 2 lbs tea at Dan's, and had it charged
