August 1886

15 Sunday fine cool day. a number in church.
16. rained today Sandy Dougald came to work. The boys went to cut the grain
17. The boys had to come home from the cutting of the grain on account of the rain
18 Wednesday. The boys finished cutting the wheet a provender {livestock feed}. A good many at prayer Meeting. I washed a number of rags for to strip for carpet.
19. I colored. Scarlet Orange & Garnet, for carpet.
20 Mrs Blacklock & daughter took dinner here. today. They were with Annie last night Mrs W. Ossin is very poorly. she had a bad turn last night. I got at Dan's codfish 2 lbs gran sugar 1 little bottle castor oil
21 Went to see Mrs Ossin
22. Mrs W. Ossin died this morning.
2.3. We had Duncan Tyo. thrashing. thrashed 51 bushels provender.
2.4 It began to rain last evening, and stopped the I mill
25 very wet today. I have a very bad cold
26 I did not go to Prayer Meeting last night. Pigem was buried today
27 Tyo finished threshing bushels wheet
28 Olympeans went to Cornwall today and were bet {beat} in three games to 1 lb tea at Dan's 3 pair socks, 2 /20 1.30/70
