February
Th. 1st. Cleaned up peas. Carried 19 B.s 45 lbs of peas to Port Elgin and sold them to Ruby & Hilker @ 48 cts per B. =$9.48. Bought of Ruby and Hilker 81/2 yds of cotton @ 22 cts. per yd=$1.87.
F. 2nd. Bought of E. Gordon 16 yds of smock stuff at 35 cts per yd= $5.60 Tape 15 cts Nutmegs 5 cts. Total $6.80 Paid postage on a registered letter containing Two Dolrs as subscription Due for last years Globe to no. 864 postage 7 cts also on two weeks for the Globe 5 cts. Magazine 2 cts. This makes me straight with the Postmaster to this date.
S. 3rd. Thrashing Oats, Robert cleaning up in the barn. Very stormy.
M. 5th. Thrashing oats etc.
T. 6th. Finished thrashing Oats, cleaned them up, took Mr. Gobles mill home etc. Also Two bags of peas.
W. 7th. Cleaned up and preparing for thrashing. 6 Bushls of peas for the pigs.
Th. 8th. Thrashing this forenoon with Andersons Machine. C F S. and Baler. James Craig and Moffat Salter and Henry Hayden John Staffords team and his Son Abel, Hucklinsons team and his son, Hugoes horse and John Bastedo and Mr. Martin.
F. 9th. Went to mill with a Grist to chop consisting of 9 B of peas and 17 B.s of Oats, brought it back with me.
S. 10th. Making a maul splitting wood etc.
M. 12th. Hauling in Turnips.
