April

M. 1st. Posted a letter to Uncle Fred Parker containing a Post Office Order for $19.56 or £ 4.0.0 sterling cost 5 cts. Paid for church purposes to Lehnen $1.50 also 7 c. paid on Globe.

T. 2nd. Chopping.

W. 3rd. Chopping.

Th. 4th. Salter the Beef, and hung the pork that was in the small barrel in the smoke house etc.

F. 5th. Bought of E Gordon 1 Wine barrel 50 c 1 soap box. Bought Martin Eby six packages of garden seeds 30 pd. Bought of J. MacIntosh irons and teeth for drag $3.72. Lent Henry Rawn 311/2 lbs of flour the weight of the bag included.

S. 6th. Chopping, Bought of Belzner 1 Bushl. of Clover seed and paid him Nine Dolrs. for the same. Settled with James George to this date his A/C. against me, was $4.50, mine against him. $4.45.

M. 8th. Afternoon chopping, took some wood for church purposes A letter from Mr Hawkin.

T. 9th. Chopping.

W. 10th. Chopping. Paid Mrs Rawn 25 cts the which I was owing.

Th. 11th. Chopping.

F. 12th. Making a fence at C F Ss.

S. 13th. Commenced to sow grass seed, finished the field next to J. G and C. 51/2 acres at the rate of 111/2 pints per acre. this is mined seef Clover 1 pint timothy 11/4.

M. 15th. Brought home my new harrows from J. Gobles his charge for making and material $1.75 on C F S. The old sow of thirteen pigs.

T. 16th. Let Stuart have 40 lbs of corn meal for 1 Dolr. paid. Commenced plowing in the field & intend for peas.

W. 17th. Finished sowing grass seed. Plowing, hauling out Stumps. etc. Mary Bout. of Amos Stafford 1 pair of shoes for herself, 1 pair for Mother, 1 pair for mary, paid for Mary's and left due $2.05.
