April 1 Ad is attending the cattle the snow is nearly all gone except along the fences the fields bear side note Miss {illegible} to Kingston on the Express this afternoon too Ad is attending the cattle fine day 3 Ad & Philo cleaned up the flaxseed fine day for Revd Mr Millard preached this morning 5 Ad is doing the chores got 2 calves 1 is a bull Holstein from the Kelly cow fine day 6 rain hail & snow most of the day with heavy wind & drift 7 snow & drift the lain is piled 4 or 5 feet high snow & drift yet 8 cold raw wind this morning more pleasant in the afternoon Ad is taking of the cattle 9 Fine Day ad is at doo doo 10 Ad that water of the fields 11 Revd Mr Millard preached here at night 12 Ad is helping Jay McDonald to fix the iron Harrell & cultivator & he took me down to John Gemmells in the afternoon he very & he wanted to join the church ask Donovan Mrs Millard & Ellen was there we all partook of the sacrament side note James Snyder came this morning to work Ad has hired him 13 Ad is helping Mr Millard to move to Turners house opposite the church he has rented it for a year 14 Ad is working at home fine day Jonney is cleaning out the horse stable & splitting wood 15 Ad is working at home Jonney is doing chores 16 Ad is fixing things around the Barn Jonney is helping him find warm day the snow is all gone around the fences inside of the house 17 Ad is working in his garden fine day Jonney is splitting wood other chores he went home at night 18 Revd Mr Millard preached here this morning 19 Ad planted 9 Green Gauge plum trees & 7 blue gauge plums the green 1 is on The Ridges south from the cellar door the blues is west of that they are all where the old trees was we dug the old stumps up some heavy thunder showers
