First we had a small,new one under the hind corner and after breaking the chain two or three times trying to budhge it, we decided it was too small and wasn't greased enough so we jacke dit up and put an old big one under that was split and wired to-gether we moved a foot or two with it and it broke, so we had to jack he rup ah=gain and gease the small one and out it under and after much pulling all the after noon and breaking chain & uopsetting the capstan two or there rtimes, we took it out and put under three or four small rollers and no saddle. Mr. Evand wa sove rhelping and us this after noon, and so about five o'clock sh estarted to go and from that till we quit we moved as far as we could without setting the capstan agaiin so the boys went home in great spirits full of prais eofr the small rollers. I nearly tore the clothes off me on theirnwire and nals and also hit my sore knee a lot with the end of the cable so I didn't feel so happy. Frankm plowed all day and Dad. had to go up to George Duncan's this morning to look at a cow. Tuopper. who wa sin Simcoe all day came over about five and killed the yearling buck.
