It has been sunny to-day but the wind is still high and cold.

It has been sunny to-day but the wind is still high and cold. We have soent the whole day doing chores and watching our herd anf flock increase. Little No. 4 ewe had a big strong lamb with her when Dad. went out this morning and beofre noon No 33 had one. They were big fat lambs but strong, but the even twhich will make this a red letter day in the annals of Knockfierna was the long-looked for arrival of Elgu=tha's calf. he too is a big strong bull and a fine roan. Elgitha is so wild no one can get within ten feet of her, but tere is no necessity too as she and the calf are both all right. I hung around our in the barn till about four o'clock and then came in and got shaved and ready to take in Mrs. Smith's tea-party. It was. agreat si=uccess. She had none boys there and Marj. & me. Wwe helped her feed the bunch which included Isabel and she and the colonel and we two ha dour tea while the rabblement tore around in the other rooms. I went over to band practice for a little while after tea. and Marj. shipped the boys off soon after I got back but w e stayed for quite awhile listening to the Colonel talk.
