From there we went up to Buck's park and played one piece there before tea. I had tea at Aunty's and we spent the evening playing in Orchard Beach park. Nothing very exciting happened to-day. There was the usual run of sports, a baby show on the bandstand being the only think a little out of the ordinary. They had about 30 babies entered in it. Mrs. Percy Millman had hers there and asked me to hold it for her which I did for awhile. Chris Quanbury's baby took 1st prize. It was just hot enough to-day to bring the crowd in but not uncomfortable. I went over for a few minutes while we were waiting for the boat to see Alan & Dick Tibbits and Quint. Alan said they had had their bathing houses full up all the after noon. Quint only got his booth about half built and his ice cream didn't come but he seemed to be doing a good business selling soft drinks and cigarettes. Pete Holmes new casino opened to-day. |
