We did the chores up pretty well this morning and right after dinner dad enough and tit drove downtown. They put Queen in at Hicks and left it with auntie and dad went to Mr Morgan's funeral. It was Private so enough didn't go. He was bullied up at St John's. I walked downtown after dinner and went to the bank to deposit some money as I promised Boyd. I would send him the check with the project team. I then went to the station but it hasn't come yet. I was in the custom house for a while talking to Hubie. He was giving me alone just a T-shirt on the tribulations of his office going to the constant revision of the ever-changing terrace, with a very seedy, looking chap came in and rather sheepishly asked what was the duty on anything imported from the states. He'll be told him it made a great deal of difference, what he was importing, and when he apparently unwillingly confessed that it was an automobile he'll be started in and told him first, 30%, then 7 1/2% then 10% of the duty-paid value, he'll be figured it up to be well over three $200 on $1000, so at last the fellow lift after asking

just before tea on her snowshoes, with a message for Dad. asking him to be bearer at Mr. Morgan's funeral to-morrow. There was another funeral to-day from down east some place. The two hearses went into the cemetry about the same time. I stayed home to-night and worked at my show card practice.
