This after noon Dad. finished cutting the seed and Marj. and I picked up the potatoes that were dug. Mrs. Percy & Bessie Patterson were over to see Marj. this after noon but didn't. Mr. Johnson the horse enthusiast was also in to have a look at Josie. We were entertaining faint hopes that she might raise us another colt and Mr. Johnson was as anxious to see it aparantly as we were as he admires Joe's build so much, but it is beginning to look now as if our hopes were vain. Enah Marj. and I went down to the reception for Mr & Mrs Cornish to-night. The Sunday school was full to overflowing. Cousin Willie was chairman and he, Mr. Barwell, Jack Martin, Dr. Cook, Col. Smith, W.J. Thompson & Sam Morris all made rather silly speeches, the flattery of which must have made Mr. Cornish feel queer, he replied to them and didn't seem to be enjoying himself much. Then we had coffee & cake. Marj. and I took Mrs. Wood to the affair and afterwards Dick Tibbitts brought us home in his car. Mr. Farnsworth invited himself to sing and Molly & Doc. & Mrs. Lemmons also sang according to pre-arrangement though.

Wednesday October 26th

Dad. went down this mornong and took Tid. to school then went on down to say good-bye to Aunty Alice who left on the nine o'clock car for Hamilton to stay for a couple of days with Cousin Clare Herring. Enah broguht Aunty over here to-night to stay till Aunty Alice gets home. I raked up the clover seed that was cut first this fore noon and this after noon we bunched it andf hauled one load in. It cleared about half the part that was rake dup. Dad. had a lot of trouble this morning with a couple of yearlings that got through some way into the corn, he got them out of that but couldn't drive them into the gully or the lane. This after noon they were in the corn again and about four o'clock disaopeared and we don't know where they are but thinj they are over at Pickford's. This after noon Bill & George got onto thre wheat and Dad. went over to put them out George attempted to jump the barbed wire caught on the top and thrww himself scratching his breast quite badly and breaking the fence but Dad. said he wasn't really hurt much.
