to bank the church money and intended going to a women's political meeting which was being held in Meighen's interests but she didnt find anyone to go with so stayed away. I went down to band practice to-night, there werent many out owing to Hallowe'en gathering I suppose. {Merit?} Walker was having a dance in the hall and there was a big crowd there. I went up to Cousin Bessie's to bring Aunty Alice home safely but we didn't run across any depredations. It was a year ago to-night that she nearly broke her neck on the fence across the sidewalk by John Shand's. It has been a beautiful day no wind and fairly hot.

There was a decided change in the weather during the night and it has rained steadily all day to-day with a high north & north east wind turning colder. Dad. took Tid to school this morning and I did chores and Marj & I trimmed the gladioli corms and got them ready to put away. Dad. cleaned up the barn floor and we put through a few oats before dinner and cleaned the dirt & a lot of the light oats out. They had quite a weight to them as if they had been through the mill. I didnt do any hing but chores this after noon. Alan Law came and got the clipping machine to clip one of his horses. Dad. took off the screen doors and put a fire in the hall stove as they expected Huby & Mr. Farnsworth Aunty & Aunty Alice over to-night but as it was such a bad night none of them came. Dad. went down at four o'clock and drove Tid. home. He went down to see if Aunty would come over and she was half inclined to but they both thought the weather was too bad. Marj. & I sat out in the hall all evening and enjoyed the coal stove warmth and I laid out a showcard lesson
