| + | I was late getting up this morning and Dad. had the milking nearly done when I went out He felt very miserable he said and didn't eat any breakfast but went out to plough. I went out about ten o'clock when I got things done up and he felt worse so came up to the house and has hardly raised his head all day. He says all his bones ache and his head aches. I ploughed all day and learned more about the ancient art to-day than I ever did before. I made two strikes and two finishes and although they are anything but beautiful, they are my first attempts so there is some excuse. I did the chores up alone to-night and it was pretty late when I got through. Cloudy all day | ||

| + | Dad. has been better to-day but hasn't felt like doing much although he helped me milk to-night. I got up at five this morning and was able to get a fair start at ploughing after doing up everything. I ploughed all day and I believe made a slight improvement in my work. Marj. went over to the Pickford's this afternoon and presented them with the two small kittens belonging to the house cat. I had to take time this morning to chase the ewes which we had west of the lane out of the field by the old garden as they have found holes under the gully fence to get through. At noon I had to chase old Gladys out of the corn field. She goes out there every day now and roots around the shocks for little ears. If she can't get out through the field she goes all the way around by the road. She has the fence at the north end of her yard broken down and we haven't had a chance to fix it yet. Cloudy & damp. Freezing all the after noon | ||
