was bound to get into the cornfield. Marj. went down town this after noon and stayed for tea at Miss McQueen's and then went over to the Bagley's. I went down after tea and got my hair cut and then went up to Percy Ryerse's to see if he had done any figuring on the house yet but he hadn't. I went into Mrs. Bagley's where I found Marj. We stayed there for awhile & then went down to Aunty's where a party was just breaking up so we partook of coffee & cake and got home about twelve o'clock.
Saturday December 3rd
Dad. ploughed to-day but didn't get a very early start and was bothered quite a lot to get his strikes in the right place as he can't see the old dead furrows. I went out after dinner and helped him measure off one & set stakes. I spent most of the fore noon doing chores as well as most of the after noon. I went over to Martin's this morning to see if I could pan off any more cockrels on Jack, but Sid & Else said he was pretty well loaded with them just now and Else advised me to wait awhile. He gave me his ideas concerning hens laying at this time of year and he thinks they should be shut right in now. He says the hens he is looking after are laying the best of any over there. Marj. went down to Auntys this after noon to celebrate her birthday. Aunty Alice was having a bridge party so it worked in very nicely. I went down to the Tuxis boys meeting to-night & thanks to Marj. thinking up some things for them to do we had a good meeting. I went in to Auntys and called for Marj. and had some party cake. It has been cloudy, windy & raw to-day.
