Dad. and I haven't done any thing much except chores but now that the snow has come and all the stock has to be fed and stables cleaned, they take most of our time. We haven't got any of the young stock colts or sheep inside yet but feed them on the ground now that the snow makes it clean enough and the ground is partly frozen. Dad. went over to see John Quanbury this morning for a little while and thought he looked a little better but his voice is gone entirely. They told him over there that Charlie was in the doctor's office yesterday when Oliver Mann & young Percy Reed came in each with their right hand badly mutilated from playing with dynamite caps yesterday after noon They had been over at the brickyard and picked up some detonated caps which had been used for blasting over there and each one had a cap and was picking at it with a nail. Both caps exploded at once and consequently Olive thinks he will have to lose the end of his first finger and the first joint of his thumb while young Reed's first finger was blown off and Karl Coleman says it is sticking to a Hydro pole in front of the house. Both boys' right hands were wounded but they say they are both left handed. Marj. went down town this after noon and went to the Girl's meeting to-night. We got the night chores done up early so I went down town before six and stayed at Auntys for tea. After tea |

200 loads of earth in it yet, but as it is getting so late they will probably fill it with ice. Mr. Bagley and I then took a walk over to the greenhouse and saw their new office building which is a fine building and when they get their terraces all sodded will look very pretty down there. Marj. and I stopped in at Aunty's on our way home Aunty Alice was alone as Aunty had come over here to dinner with Enah We got home about five and Enah and Aunty were just going down for tea. Enah went to play at church to-night and Jack Walker brought her home after they had a Christmas practice Sunny but raw
