Last night was the hardest frost we have had & it has been cloudy and frozen up all day but not much wind so not a bad day. It seems to be a little milder to-night. After we got things fed up this morning I went over to Frank Ryerse's to get Wilbur to kill pigs for us to-morrow. He & Dave McBride & Frank were all in the house at Frank's place. Wilbur said he had to kill a beef for Frank Lemmons in the morning but could do our job after dinner. I came home through Tom's & Mark's place and found them cutting down an old elm on Charlie Butler's line.

It fell on top of their saw just as I came along so I stayed there till they got the saw loose and then they induced me to go up to the house and have some cider, so we went up there and chewed the rag over the election results for quite awhile. Tom said some fellow gave him $15.00 to vote for Sutton but he didn't go out as he wouldn't vote for a liberal and Truman Walker was up at one of Wallace's meetings and told them that a returned soldier got up and accused Wallace of saying in 1917 when he was running as a Laurier liberal, that if he was elected his police would be "Not another man, not another dollar for the war". and Wallace did not deny it, so Tom wouldn't vote for him nor Mark either. I told them I didn't believe Wallace did say such a thing in an open meeting or he would have been mobbed. Mark told me he knew the U.F.O. didn't buy any votes this election and he knew by Tom's experience that the other fellows did or tried to, but I suppose the U.F.O. were sure of their man as all the ones who would be liable to sell votes in former days are staunch members of the organization now. I just did chores this after noon. Marj. went down town and stayed for tea I went down after tea and we went to Jack Misner's

and then went over to her mother's this evening as her sister Mrs. Johnson came down this after noon. After tea it was such a beautiful night full moon & still and frosty that Marj & I thought we would take a walk. We took Aunty's milk & cream down but they weren't home and {Else?} met Enah who told us they had gone up to Huby's. We had thought of going up there but Marj. remembered that Lila was having her literary club meet there to-night so we went up and spent the evening with Mrs. Harry Moon.
