up but I don't think we did anything else in the way of teaming. McMullen was over on Tuesday and bought the two old ewes the only ones that were left. I told him there was every chance of them raising lambs this Spring but as they were so old I let him have them for $5.00 apiece. We did deliver Jack's lambs to him one day but I forget whether it was before or after the New Year. We took down what we thought were ten lambs but when I was looking up their numbers to have them registered I found one was a yearling. I went down to Jacks to investigate and sure enough found a yearling amongst them and she appears to be in lamb. I guess we will leave her there. It leaves one lamb not accounted for and the only thing I can imagine is that Dougherty got her last summer. Aunty & Aunty Alice were over here to dinner one day and on Friday morning left for Detroit to pay Roy & Vernon a month's visit. Quint. Huby Marj. & I were down to see them off on the nine o'clock car and were very pleased to be able to leave them in charge of a Mr. Well's, Walk's brother who was going right through to Windsor. Marj. and I went down there Thursday night and are now

encamped there till they get back looking after the house for them and having a whale of a time. I have breakfast and tea down there with Marj. and stay here at the farm for dinner. John Quanbury who had steadily been going downhill for the last month or six weeks died on the 27th and was buried on the 30th. We were over at the funeral and Dad. was one of the bearers. His death was a sad blow for the family as they never suspected anything serious the matter with him till Dr. Toll told him when he quit work that there was a growth on his lungs for which nothing could be done. We are all waiting anxiously for the results of the election next Monday. At Nomination Jack Martin and Andrew Innes were put up for reeve and C.W. Barwell, Landon Ivey, Harry Misner, Capt. McCauly, Quinn & Jim Austin are running for councillors. Andrew is of course leading the old party of knockers an dseems confident of winning probably counting the strength of huisgang to be a sgreat as in the days of Vyse. Jack is equally confident of success and with barwell& Landon Ivey should make the best council for progress and good standing that Dover has had for a long time.
