stayed till tea time. I spent the fore noon doing the dishes, playing with the kids and competing with Marj. in making tabloid puzzles. I had the laugh on her, she does the one that is in the paper every day and as a rule solves them in a minute or two so this morning she made one. I said any body could make one but she was of the opinion that she had done something very clever and that I couldn't do it, whereat I sat down and wrote one out that she couldn't solve at all and I had to tell her the answer. I then attempted to make a crossword puzzle but got stuck and she spent the remainder of the day composing a couple one of which she worked in the names Toby & T. Barrett and the other Toby Dick Quint. Frank, Tim, Harry & Marj, so I guess I'll have to admit she is smarter yet than I am. After I gave the children their dinners and got them to sleep, (I rocked Harry B and put Gay in bed with Marj. where she slept for awhile) I went out and did some chores, and then came in and read for awhile. I had a couple of pieces of bread & butter and some cheese during the after noon and Marj. got up in time to put the kids to bed to-night and we had tea fairly early. Harry B woke up this evening and I had to rock him for a long time. Marj. wrote Dorrie and we read "Two Gentlemen of Verona". Raw & cloudy, rained part of the day
